We have a great service/repair department to take care of you, your guitars and amps.
Set Up
Guitars are individually setup before being offered for sale. This means that we adjust the neck, the action (string height) and intonation (string length) and the nut to just the right height to ensure the optimum response for the instrument.
Repairs
After so many years experience in the local music scene we have developed some excellent connections with local tradespeople who we have recognised as specialists in their chosen fields. We are able to offer a broad range of repairs - from fretwork and body maintenance to major reconstruction of your instrument or amplifier.
Our amp tech is a valve (tube) amp freak whom can restore, rebuild or tweak your favourite amp. We have two very experienced guitar techs with excellent reputations to whom you can entrust your treasured instruments, contact us for details.

The Guitar Centre’s New Guitar Repairer has now returned from the UK “full time”.
Many Guitarists will remember Raymond for his association with Chris Kinman and what was KINMAN GUITAR CRAFT REPAIRS, for his “attention to detail” repairs and for building Kinman Guitars.
Raymond worked with Chris from the early 80’s and as well as learning the precise repair techniques from and demanded from the “master”, he satisfied his curiosity for building guitars by the construction experiment that was called “BLUEPRINT”. Neck and Body completely hand made.
This instrument became the “PROTOTYPE” for what has become the highly successful and still highly prized and sought after Kinman Blueprint Series and Icon Guitars.
Initially involved with the design and development of these guitars, Chris and Raymond built many of these exquisite instruments before Raymond moved to London. He did return each year to build, shape, fret, paint and stockpile guitar necks as well as assembling and setting up to finish the instruments for sale.
Raymond has a reputation for “fine workmanship” and specializes in:-
- SET UPS : Electric, Acoustic, Classical, Flamenco and Bass.
- FRET SURFACING : High quality surfacing and levelling, re-crowning and polishing/buffing of frets.
- RE-FRETTING : This repair should “NEVER” be attempted by amateurs (or Butchers as many of the “cowboy” handyman repairers are known). Not only are specific tools and equipment required, BUT considerable expertise and engineering knowledge also.

SPRAY PAINTING:
Probably has one of only two professional fully exhausted and micron filtered spray rooms in Queensland for spraying maple neck refrets and complete body repaints. (two and three colour sunbursts-OK)
POT, JACK SOCKET and SWITCH REPLACEMENT:
End those pops and crackles and improve your sound with high quality parts replacement.
RE-WIRING and PICK UP INSTALLATION:
Complete re-wiring and installation on Pick Ups. Adding “Push/ Pull” or “Push/ Push” pots for Coil Splitting.
KINMAN NOISELESS PICKUPS:
Expert installation of the now “World Renown” Kinman Pick Ups. Complete wiring and addition of your choice of the K 5, K 7 or K 9 Non-Soldering harnesses if required.
